I am 1/4 Cherokee and 1/4 Apache - half of me is Native American. The rest is Dutch, Irish and some Scottish.

I was adopted as a baby, so I never got to learn about my Native American heritage from my biological family and I'm always wanting to learn more!

Just a little information about what's going on right now and why I'm not always able to come online:

Both of my mothers (my 'mom' who adopted me and raised me from the age of 2 months & my biological mother who gave birth to me and is 1/2 Cherokee - she found me in May 2002) died last year.

My adoptive mother died suddenly in Jan 2007 and my biological mother died in Nov 2007 from AIDS.

Since my adoptive mother died I have been taking care of my elderly father who has alzheimers. I am in the process of moving my life from Texas to the Ozarks, so sometimes my life can be quite busy!

I have no regrets in leaving my prior life behind to start this new one. Granted, it hasn't always been easy and many times it's quite difficult but, I feel that this time with my father is a very special blessing and I am happy to be with him.
